Scholarships
Many Texas colleges and universities offer financial aid and scholarships to international students to help them pay for their studies. Use the list below to get an overview of what financial aid and scholarships are available at participating institutions.

Texas Wesleyan University
Texas Wesleyan offers scholarships up to $14,000 USD per year for the following undergraduate majors:
PreMedicine Program with MCAT-waived guaranteed admission to Medical School (4 partner choices), 5 year BS/MS program in Biomedical Sciences, Accounting / Forensic Accounting, Management, Mathematics, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Paralegal, Political Science, Computer Science, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, History, Mass Communications, English, Religion, Journalism, Spanish, Liberal Studies, Theatre, Music, Education, Exercise Science.
Angelo State University
ASU’s Carr Scholarship Program is designed for new freshman students and honors dedication to learning by recognizing previous academic achievements. Awards of up to $18,000 per year are based on high school GPA and standardized test scores. Please review the test scores ranges to see what you will qualify for in a Carr Scholarship for 2019-2020.
RICE UNIVERSITY
Student standouts—that's what we look for! Merit-based scholarship recipients generally distinguish themselves scholastically and personally even within our highly competitive group of admitted students. All admitted freshman applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships, so that no separate application forms or interviews are necessary. The Office of Admission notifies scholarship winners at the time of admission to the university. Past recipients have included but are not limited to: political and community service leaders, math/science competition winners, creative and performance artists, entrepreneurs, scholar-athletes, and exceptional writers.

DBU offers several scholarship opportunities for qualified candidates. Students who have graduated from a DBU Global Community Partner school are eligible to apply for up to $12,000 in scholarships toward a 4-year bachelor degree or $3,600 toward a masters degree. International students who have are both academically strong and have demonstrated a commitment to service in their community are also welcome to apply to DBU’s highly-competitive Hope and Future Scholarship with awards ranging from $500 to $6,000 during the first year of study. Other opportunities include the ministerial grant and church matching programs.
Houston christian university
Houston Christian University offers the same merit scholarships to international students (and charges the same tuition) as any other student. Freshman can earn up to $24,000 in academic scholarships per year, based on high school GPA and SAT/ACT score. Transfer students can earn up to $18,000 per academic year based on transfer GPA (plus an additional $3,000 per year for Phi Theta Kappa members). More information can be found here.

texas A&M texarkana
Texas A&M University-Texarkana offers eligible international students a global heritage scholarship and associated tuition waiver of up to $14,000 per academic year.
abilene christian university
All international students who are admitted to ACU will receive the President's International Scholarship for $18,000 a year for four years. In addition, international students who live on campus are also eligible to receive the Wildcat Housing Grant for $3,000 per year for up to two years to be applied to housing costs. There are other competitive scholarships available for international scholarships.
stephen f. austin state university
This scholarship is awarded to students who will contribute to the increased diversity for international representation at Stephen F. Austin State University. The amount of the scholarship is $1,000 per year and includes a tuition discount for a total award of up to $11,000. All applicants must complete the application and show educational achievement (most recent grade average – 2.75 undergraduate; 3.25 graduate) in order to be awarded the scholarship.
University of mary hardin-baylor
$30,000 International Student Scholarship
This scholarship is available to undergraduate international students on the F1 visa. The scholarship is awarded in the amount of $3750 per semester for a total of 8 semesters. The only requirements are holding an F1 visa, full-time enrollment and maintaining good academic status once enrolled. This scholarship is available only to international students!
The university of Texas at tyler
The University of Texas at Tyler offers the New Graduate Student Fellowship, a $1,000 award available to domestic and international, Texas and non-Texas residents. Texas State University
Texas State offers Assured Scholarships to international students which are awarded on the basis of one’s academic profile. Awards range from $1,500 to $9,500 USD annually and are guaranteed to all qualified non-residents provided you are admitted to Texas State as a first-time incoming freshman and meet the minimum scholarship qualifications prior to your first semester (fall or spring).
Nonresident students who are awarded an institutional scholarship also qualify to pay the in-state Texas tuition rate not the higher international rate. If you receive at least $1,000 in Texas State Competitive or Assured Scholarships, you will receive a nonresident tuition waiver, granting you in-state resident tuition rates for the period covered by your scholarship. This constitutes a savings of approximately $10,000 to $12,000 above the actual scholarship amount depending on the number of courses and hours attempted.
Hardin-Simmons University
At HSU, we want to make your education as affordable as possible. We offer all undergraduate international students in-state tuition and excellent academic scholarships based on your college entrance exam test scores. International students could also qualify for other scholarships like Heritage Scholarship, Church Match Scholarship, Honors Program Scholarship, and Departmental Scholarships.
University of the Incarnate Word
Merit based scholarships based on GPA are available up to $20,000 per year.
